Google is Amazing

I had no idea how to google this weird wasabi'y lettuce that came in my CSA box this week so I just started typing "lettuce that tastes like wasabi" and before I got even remotely deep enough into the phrase, Google guessed what I was asking!

For the record, they're mustard greens.

Sports Bra Spiders

Here's another post where I say "I'm about to post about my trip to Guam, I swear" (I really am, I swear. Probably) but really this post is so I can direct you to post about my favorite people on Guam and a very large spider.

I lolled.

And then thanked my lucky stars that nothing of the sort happened to the clothes I hung on their clothesline:

Sort of related: I think a moth may have started a family in my food cabinet. I thought the same moth had been kicking it in the general vicinity of my food cabinet, but then today I got tired of it so I killed it and then "it" was back, so I killed it and then "it" was back, so I killed it. Then I banged against the cabinet door and a couple more moths came flying out. And now whenever I walk past it, I open the door and find another moth or two.

Moths are far less horrifying than sports bra spiders, but they're still unwelcome inhabitants of my food cabinet.

Balloons

The balloon-lined driveway was the one Pinterest idea I wouldn't re-do. The wind blew and the balloons tangled and it wasn't as lovely as I planned.

And then I got in trouble with my Sister in Law Who Does Not Wear John Deere Pajamas for encouraging my perfect nephew to let go of a balloon (or two) so we could watch it float away. Apparently that's like murdering birds, but watching him watch the balloon float away was a happy moment.

Sorry birds.

Also: Party clean up is more entertaining when there is helium to inhale.

And: My brother taught us (and himself) that popping balloons with a dull machete is easier said that done.

The retirement/anniversary party we threw for my parents yesterday would have been totally different if I didn't have an idea machine, aka Pinterest, at my fingertips.
